Writing Moonbow Jakes – 28 February 2002:

Moonbow Jakes Coffee Shop, New Cross Road, New Cross, London

The selected programme attempts to explore what constitutes site-specific performance. All of this evening’s performances are site-specific in that they explore the dynamic between the site (Moon Bow Jakes Coffee Shop) and performance – entering into dialogue with the place – and exploring its non-theatrical purpose.

Comment (from Smiths Magazine):

'more and more spectators filled the basement of Moonbow Jakes, people shoved along on couches, crunched themselves up on the floor and squashed themselves into the corners… a wonderful intimacy that united the audience, and made us feel like an integral part of the space'
